Give thanks to
the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. –Psalm 118:29 (NIV)
God has truly blessed Southside Baptist Church over its rich
history, and that has never been more apparent than in just the last
year. At times in our past, the Lord has provided a way for us to
continue to answer His calling and meet the spiritual needs of those
in the community around us. Last May, we dedicated our new
children’s building and celebrated the many opportunities it gives
us to invite in those who need to hear the Word of God proclaimed
boldly.
What a blessing we’ve found in the many
uses of this building! It has allowed us to focus our children’s
ministry in many different areas and accommodate the serious growth
not only in our church but in the community.
-
The building’s nursery facilities
have allowed young families to freely hear Biblical truths
taught in Sunday School and worship services while they can be
secure in knowing their children are being well cared for.
-
Toddlers are looked after in clean,
safe classrooms with individual bathrooms, allowing teachers to
keep them safe and attentive while teaching them.
-
The children have their own worship
center which allows them to sing, hear the Word, and enjoy
fellowship in a unique environment.
-
Our choir has enlarged practice
facilities that can better accommodate its musical and
performance needs.
-
Renovated kitchen facilities provide
good meals for fellowship and the many outreaches our church
performs.
-
An improved gym allows us to invite
in through recreation and athletic events children and families
that need to hear the Gospel.
-
An open foyer provides a pleasing
space for welcome and fellowship both before and after meetings
and worship.
Through the “EVER FAITHFUL” campaign, we
hope to retire the debt remaining on the children’s building so that
we may be better able to do what God has called us to do in
Southside, Etowah County, Alabama, and even to the ends of the
earth. We are all being called to give sacrificially for the next
three years. This program requires prayer and obedience to the
direction the Lord provides. By answering this call, we can take the
blessings we have to be a blessing for others, to build the
relational bridges needed to share the hope of Christ with those who
desperately need to hear it.
Thankful for what God has provided and
mindful of His faithfulness to us, we ask you to consider your part
in this campaign.
This involves a personal decision
between individuals and God. The outcome can mean much for many
lives, in both time and eternity. May the Lord richly bless you, and
may He receive all the glory from whatever we do together.
Bro. Scott
