On the night
before Jesus was crucified, he told his disciples, knowing what he faced -
"In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the
world." (John 16:33) The Bible tells us that later that night, he was so
overcome with grief that he sweated blood. We serve a Savior who knows what
it is like to be alone, weary, filled with fear. He even gave a blessing to
those who mourn, promising they would be comforted. (Matt. 5:4). But his
love is sustaining, and offered to all. "Come to me, all you who labor and
are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn
from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matt. 11:28-30)
