FAITH is an ongoing, comprehensive
(evangelism and ministry) strategy and process which functions
through your existing Sunday School. FAITH equips and mobilizes
Sunday School classes to accomplish these ministry “touches.”
-
Personal Evangelism/Soul
Winning
-
Follow-up of new believers
-
Assimilation/Discipleship
-
-
Ministry to regular attenders
WHERE DID FAITH
ORIGINATE?
FAITH grew from the grassroots, practical, consistent
ministry of the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida. This
church has implemented Evangelism training through the Sunday School
since 1985. It has been proven successful. Now, FAITH can be
successful in your church!
HOW IS FAITH DIFFERENT FROM
OTHER EVANGELISTIC TRAINING APPROACHES?
-
FAITH “marries” Sunday School
and evangelism.
-
The FAITH gospel presentation
is easy to learn and simple to use.
-
FAITH enables your church to
realize more public professions of faith, increased
baptisms, and stronger assimilation of new members into your
fellowship.
-
FAITH lights a fire of “soul
consciousness” in your Sunday School.
-
FAITH training resources are
state of the art and exciting.
WHO IS DOING FAITH NOW?
28 SBC churches “originated” FAITH in January of 1998. Since
August 1998 over 6,500 churches have been equipped at a FAITH
Training Clinic. Encourage leaders from your church to enroll in a
clinic today.
WHAT CHURCHES
CAN DO FAITH?
ANY CHURCH of ANY SIZE with a Sunday School, and a
pastor who is willing to lead, can successfully use the FAITH Sunday
School Evangelism Strategy.
WHO SHOULD DO FAITH IN OUR
CHURCH?
At least one FAITH team should be created, initially, in each
age division in your Sunday School (including preschool and children
leaders). A FAITH Team consists of three people (a leader who has
already received training and two learners) who are all members of
the same Sunday School unit. FAITH teams reproduce themselves within
their unit each semester.
HOW LONG IS FAITH TRAINING?
A FAITH training semester is 16 weeks. This gives each Team
Learner opportunity to learn the Gospel Presentation, see it modeled
several times during visitation and get to the point where he or she
can lead visits where the gospel is shared. Each weekly session of
FAITH, including teaching, visiting, and celebrating lasts
approximately 3 hours. A church should plan to conduct two
semesters of training each year.
WILL OUR CHURCH MEMBERS PARTICIPATE
IN FAITH?
YES! Because:
-
FAITH reduces task load on
your active members.
-
FAITH builds people up rather
than using them up.
-
FAITH creates a Great
Commission vision.
-
FAITH revitalizes Sunday
School and church life.
-
FAITH develops confidence in
personal soul winning.
-
FAITH produces measurable,
noticeable results in Sunday School classes.
