"But the time is coming and is
already here when true worshipers will worship the Father in
spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for anyone who will
worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship
Him must worship in spirit and in truth." - John 4:23-24 (NLT)
Much in the scripture comes in
THREE's. At Southside
Baptist Church, we strive to Three ways.
We give Exaltation to Him in His
holiness by striving to worship each week in Spirit and in
Truth. If those words sound lofty, they are. But they are
God's instructions to Him people about worship and that should
come first. As we come together as a people to do that we will
also give
Exhortation
to
one another. The scripture says not to forsake the assembling
of yourselves together. And last it is our goal to worship
together in such a way that those who do not know our Lord would
long to come to know Him. This is true
Evangelism
in worship. Shouldn't we leave worship with a great desire to
share that experience, that meeting with God with others.
Our ministry works in THREE
ways to accomplish this goal,
1) Chorale Music,
2)
Instrumental Music,
and 3) Congregational Worship.
The basis for everything we do
within our Music Ministry is Psalm 33:3: "Sing to the Lord a new
song, play skillfully, and shout for joy." I believe this one
succinct verse lays the Biblical foundation for our three
avenues of musical worship (choir and ensembles, instruments and
congregation).
